Overview

The three-months 'Science and Engineering Intership Program' is held at Leibniz Universität Hannover and Clausthal University of Technology  from May 21 to August 9, 2012.

The first two weeks, held in Clausthal, are dedicated to an orientation period including intensive German language classes and intercultural training.

Afterwards, students will participate  in a ten-week  research project in their individual department in Clausthal or Hannover.

Participants will be supported by a personal supervisor at the institute. Furthermore, the student will be supported by the  staff of the International Office of both Universities  and a "Study Buddy"  to orient in Clausthal or Hannover. 

All aspects of this program are conducted in English.

Tuition

Programm fees are 3,000 € (approx. 4,000 $).

There is a non-refundable deposit of 750 € (approx. 1,000 $) due upon submission of application.

Tuition includes:

  • Placement
  • Internship in departments
  • Intercultural training
  • German language classes (during the first two weeks)
  • Health insurance
  • Company visits to e.g. VW, Airbus, Sennheiser, MTU
  • Field trips to Berlin, Hamburg, Munich (optional, additional costs of ca. $ 150,---)
  • Housing in a student resident hall

Support services

Accomodation

Students in Hannover and Clausthal will be accomodated in halls of residence (Hannover / Clausthal). A single furnished bedroom with shared kitchen and bathroom areas is available.

'Mensa', the student cafeterias, provide full meals for a low budget and are available on University campus.
